Julie Behling-Hovdal founded Essential Survival in 2010 with the goal of helping as many people as possible be equipped to take care of their health on a daily basis, as well as in times of chaos when drugs and Western medicine might not be as readily available.

Julie’s passion for helping people be more empowered to take care of their health developed after she experienced a debilitating autoimmune illness over a six-year period and was able to have her health restored through lifestyle changes and products from Young Living Essential Oils back in 2005.  She had a wake-up call concerning the need for preparedness in 2008, and immediately began to see how even a basic kit of essential oils from Young Living could benefit every family.

Julie started a reflexology/holistic healing practice when she moved to Salt Lake City in 2007.  Essential Survival combines the power of essential oils and herbs, Julie’s experience helping numerous clients in her reflexology practice, and her passion for and extensive knowledge on both natural healing and disaster preparedness. She is now mostly retired from hands-on healing healing work.

Hi Julie,
I am very interested in the many uses of essential oils but had a question you may be able to answer.
I am not totally new to essential oils use and wondered if your oils had any batch data, date of production, or similar information for the consumer to access to ensure the oils they are receiving are 1) contain abundant levels of chemical compounds like terpines, etc… 2) have a date stamp of production to determine longest shelf life as well as freshness 3) guaranteed product quality like Young Living claims to have?

I would hope that the bottles haven’t been sitting for months on the shelf of a distributor, loosing potency due to heat or improper storage, or the oldest bottle of product just so it will be sold.

I know when I travel to areas that produce oils and give the facility a good look there are questions with sanitation and other smaller details but form reviewing Young Livings videos and products it looks like a very well run organization.

These are some very good questions. I sell only Young Living essential oils. For details on components in specific batches of YL oils, please contact productsupport@youngliving.com.

Here is Young Living’s return/exchange policy — A member may return any sealed, opened product or defective product with which a member is dissatisfied up to ninety (90) days after shipment for credit of the purchase price and applicable sales tax (less shipping charges and a 10% handling fee).

Customers returning product to distributors will follow the same return policy. The distributor is responsible for returning the product to the Company within ten (10) days of receiving the return from the Customer.

Excessive returns may be deemed an abuse of the Young Living™ return policy and may result in suspension of your return privileges and/or distributorship. Damaged or incorrect shipments of products will not be subject to fees.

As far as oils sitting, I don’t have a warehouse as I work from home. I have a very small inventory of oils and we go to the YL headquarters 2x/week to pick up orders. Young Living has just announced new farms and distilleries in various places around the world to keep up with demand.

I am really excited to be heading up to the Young Living farm in Idaho in a couple of weeks, and I will be helping with harvesting and distilling some of the oils. It should be a lot of fun (and work)!

I was receiving the newsletter and videos but several months ago they stopped for no reason I know of!! I miss your info and encouraging words!!
[Also wondered if a new little miracle has arrived already :)]
