How Would You Respond to an Earthquake?
Preparation Now Can Make a Big Difference –
When I was a young child my family lived in Southern California, an earthquake-prone area. After living there for a couple of years and experiencing minor earthquakes from time to time, our local newspaper published a map of the San Andreas fault in relation to our city. As it turned out, our street lay right across the fault line!!
Thankfully in our three years living on the street, we didn’t experience anything worse than a 5-second tremble or an earthquake in the night that shook my little twin bed into the middle of my bedroom while I slept.
Over the last 100 years there have been many dozens of earthquakes that have taken tens of thousands of lives, displaced hundreds of thousands, and caused millions of dollars in damage.
There are some simple actions you can take right now to dramatically increase your chances of survival and relative comfort in the event of an earthquake or other disaster. Get an old backpack for each family member. Fill it with the items listed below first, then customize it based on your individual and family needs –
Top 10 Things I Have In My Disaster Preparedness Kit
11. Cash in small bills and quarters — $100 preferably (sorry — couldn’t keep it to just 10!)
10. Backup of Computer Files (portable hard drive, thumb drive, etc…)
9. Copies of Important Documents (birth certificate, insurance policies, credit cards, passport, etc…)
8. Pocket Tools (Leatherman, Swiss army knife, etc…)
7. Sleeping bag/tent/emergency blanket
6. Flashlight with batteries
5. Change of clothes (including underwear and socks)
4. Small kit of bandages, gauze and compresses
3. Essential Oil Survival Kit (covers thousands of first-aid and personal care needs including cuts, scrapes, and gashes, head wounds, infection, and more! See video below –)
2. Basic Food Items for 3 days (pop-top canned soup, granola, dried fruit, etc…)
1. Bottled Water (24 .5L bottles per person)
If and when an emergency hits your area, will you be among those with food to eat, water to drink, and able to powerfully take care of many first-aid needs, or will you be one of the victims crying for the government to come and save you?

Testimonials –
“I was working in the wood pile one day trying to break up some smaller limbs. When I finally got one to break I lost my balance and fell face first into the pile.
I had quite a puncture wound on my top lip under my nose and it wouldn’t stop bleeding. I let it bleed for a couple of minutes to clean out any germs and then I applied lavender oil. It stopped bleeding almost immediately and did not get infected, nor was it very painful.”

“While at a family reunion this year I had my inner-tube flip me backwards in a Lazy River pool. I hit my head hard enough to knock me out. I iced my head and was checked by family that were nurses. I didn’t have all my oils with me so I used what I had Frankincense, Lavender, Valor and Stress Away. I applied all the oils to the base of my neck and annointed my head with the Frankincense and let it roll down the back side. When I got home I saw my doctor who concurred I had a concussion. A few days later someone suggested that I use helichrysum, which I did.
A week later I was still having trouble picking my words and staying focused on what I was trying to say and by noon was ready for a long nap. So I felt led to begin ingesting the helichrysum, 4 drops in a capsule once a day. By the second day I felt a shift and wasn’t tired and wasn’t having trouble focusing. WOW, it was amazing.”

Hi, I watched this. Thanks, very good. I forwarded you another one someone’d sent me. Question: I’m interested in your product so googled essential oils and found much cheaper ones in Puritan. What do you think of them?
Would you take a series of checks given at the same time to cover the whole amount, that you could deposit one month at a time?
thanks. gail
Hi again, Just thought of someone else while listening to you: I mentioned your website already to two people-just noticed your statement on top about receiving $50.00 for referring people here-probably not until they buy something, though. How long have you had this product? Where did you get your info.?
By the way, you really are very pleasant to listen to and sound very knowledgeable.
Julie, LOVE what you’re doing! Great info, wonderful training and tips, both for the beginner and the more advanced aromatherapist, great reminders and common sense, peace n love to you!!
Hi Julie. Thanks for the great info. I will put together a 72 hr emergency kit with the information you supplied. We also need a long trm plan for the event of a longer lasting disaster. GOD bless and I will look forward to recieving more information from you in the future.
I think it’s great to encourage people to always be prepared! I think many of us overlook emergency kits because we think we’ll never really need them. However, I also think that it’s ridiculous and irresponsible to compare the devastation from the two quakes as though we’re comparing apples with apples. Chile and its people have many more resources available to them with which to safeguard their homes (and livelihoods) from such disasters. Haiti does not have that luxury; over 90% of their people are impoverished and wondering where their next meal will come from. This article basically points the finger at the poverty-stricken people of Haiti and says, “Ha! It serves you right for not being more prepared!”

I feel that the government of Haiti must bear some responsibility for its negligence and utter lack of foresight. I agree with you that most of the people of Haiti were not in a position to be prepared for disaster — many are doing everything they can just to try to fill their stomachs! It was not my intent to judge the Haitian populace, but to point out the consequences of a lack of preparation.
In our nation, the vast majority of us are in a position to make at least some basic preparations for disaster, and it is my hope that more of us will do so.

With essential oils, it can be kind of confusing for people to see the vast differences in prices of available oils.
The truth is that the essential oil industry is unregulated, and chemical fillers are routinely added to essential oils then sold to the public as “pure”. A prime example is that 15 tons of pure lavender oil are produced in Provence, France each year, but somehow 250 tons of “pure lavender oil” are exported. Many suppliers and companies are adulterating the oils so they can sell them more cheaply.
Prior to using the oils we offer on Essential Survival, I would buy my oils from the health food store. But when I switched over, the difference was incredible. Comparing the oils we offer here (made by YL) to cheap oils online or at the health food store is a lot like comparing a fine European cheese to Velveeta. A French chef would never attempt to make a cheese souffle with Velveeta — neither should we expect a powerful, therapeutic effect from the cheap oils.
One drop of the peppermint oil we offer in the Essential Oil Survival Kit is equivalent to 26 CUPS of peppermint tea in terms of therapeutic value! So what you are getting in that little bottle packs an incredible punch. That punch comes with a price-tag.
I am excited for you to try the Essential Oil Survival Kit, because I know you will love it! I think the best thing would be for you to save up the money and then make your purchase in a couple of months.
As per your other comment, yes — there is a way for you to receive a $50 referral bonus for each person you refer who gets the Essential Oil Preparedness Plus Kit. Email me at essentialsurvivalkit@gmail.com and I will give you the full scoop!
I hope this helps –
Julie =)
